This senior community comprises 120 housing units and a concrete parking structure below four levels of wood framing. The site is located near an abandoned mine and occupies the treacherous Steeply Dipping Bedrock Formation, requiring special consideration in the structural design. Built in 2017, this large-scale complex will feature five assisted living and 36 memory care units. Due to the length of the building, special detailing was required to account for movement of the structure. This detailing was closely coordinated with architecture to reduce the impact of the joints on the unit plans and make construction easier.
