This project features 40 stunning luxury condominiums located on a site once home to the historic Broadway Motel. Developers were in fact keen to retain some of that vintage character (dating back to 1959) in their modern urban design—a theme that prevails along the entire street. In addition to residential units, the building features ground-level retail space and garage parking. The second level of the building utilized an elevated post-tensioned concrete slab. When compared to a beam framing system, this allowed for a less restrictive column layout in the retail and parking spaces as well as a much shallower floor. Ultimately, this building pays homage to the neighborhood's distinctive urban character with materials that suggest beauty and resilience—reflecting both the surrounding mountain vistas as well as the vibrant city fabric of South Denver.
